Poor Things

Already desperate to rewatch, the most I’ve laughed in the cinema maybe ever. So much to process still but just a phenomenal movie. Such excellent social commentary told in a masterfully crafted, beautiful whimsical world and a protagonist so full of wonder and excitement its runtime flies by. Emma Stone is just astonishing here, it’s unbelievable how well she sells the walking contradiction that is Bella. A character on paper utterly unbelievable feels realer and more human than most in a performance that walks the razors edge perfectly. It could’ve been so easy for this character to feel silly or cringey in every scene but that’s never the case here.  Absolutely go see this on the big screen, the world needs more movies like this.
