Moonlight
My only issue is that all three sections feel like they end before their story is over. The acting is mostly great (the first two Chiron'd aren't the best) and I fucking love the cinematography, lighting, and score (even the soundtrack, which is rap heavy at times, was very fitting and worked well), I just needed the story to "go there". All three segments feel like a lot of simmering and you're just waiting and anticipating it boiling over and or never really does. The whole thing feels very understated and the story feels like it needs more. Yeah, there is one part where we get a little bit of release, but for me, it never gits above a rolling bubble. Fuck La La Land, Moonlight is amazing. Forgot to add how much I love the unintentional humor that fucking kid offers when he just blurts out shit like "What's a faggot?" out of fucking nowhere in dead ass silence. I know it's not supposed to be funny; I know that laughing is not the appropriate response. But this is a serious movie and this little mother fucker just blurts shit out at the most inopportune times.
