Eephus
Why am I crying my eyes out? A film about an amateur adult baseball league was not supposed to make me sob. The passage of time is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened.
When I heard about Eephus, I knew I would be into it. I started watching with high expectations, which were surpassed within the first half-hour of watching. I love the cast, the pacing, the score, the sound design, the cinematography, the costumes, the set, the colour palette, and any other aspect of this film that exists.
The shots and sound that were used during the sentimental scenes were completely mind-blowing. Pivoting away from comedy, having a very sincere moment, then returning to jokes again turned me into an emotional wreck. When it got dark out and all the players used their car headlights to keep playing, I lost it completely, and there was no recovering.
Eephus makes me want to be a middle-aged man living in Massachusetts in October. However, I am a 19-year-old girl living in Ontario in February. That is sickening.
