North American Premiere: TIFF 2024 I’m disembodied… Sometimes loneliness is so profound it tears you apart inside out, it separates you from your body, rewrites the way you move through the world. This was a gorgeous adaptation of a beautiful and challenging novel. The level of creativity is astonishing it’s lovely to see Luca experimenting so much and the result is juuuust stunning! How many times can I change the adjective to call this beautiful… Daniel Craig is lecherous and it’s perfect. Drew Starkey is an absolute star, his performance was excellent and so insightful. Allertons motivations and psychology are very elusive in the book and Drew very clearly had such an intuitive understanding of the character. I’m really depressed now, I have so much more to say but it’s 1:42 a.m, maybe on the next watch.
