Weapons

I work at a movie theater and some of our theaters need their lights manually turned off and because of that, we have to fully turn off all the lights in those theaters. Well the one theater that I saw Weapons in was one of those theaters that had their lights fully turned off. And holy shit, this movie was making my subconscious beg for the lights to be turned back on. I just want to say, I know we're only two horror movies in with Zach Cregger, but I already think he's one of the greatest at nonlinear storytelling. This movie was so bone-chilling and so masterfully created that this is going to be one of the generational horror movies in film history. I'm also in love with this era of horror where we are seeing BIG actors in these movies and they just bring so much force and drive to these movies and it's so incredible to see. Josh Brolin is so great, Benedict Wong has such a low-key but vicious performance in this, and I think Julia Gardner is 3/3 on performances this year. So needless to say, I'm looking at a minimum of 4 more rewatches. Rating: 10/10 Ranking: #43/1,977 42 - Heat (1995) 43 - Weapons (2025) 44 - Snowpiercer (2013)
