Lilya 4-ever
the rammstein at the start caught me off guard.
there is no euphoria in this film, it’s not a means of entertainment, more so a cold, harrowing telling of a poverty, abuse & exploitation. and god does it make you feel ever more grateful for your life, everything, every single thing.
it tells a tragic, if that even begins to sum it up, tale under the guise of a dream pop, teenage story located in a poverty stricken russia.
in terms of form this is a good film i just can’t give it above a 4 star because it genuinely made me feel sick and quite empty having watched it, and i would quite like to never watch it again </3
