Perfect Blue

satoshi kon is my favorite director of all time. the movie makes exponentially more sense on a rewatch, and even more after seeing the ending again and having everything reframed from there. I'm still in awe that kon made this after visiting the rest of his filmography. more relevant than ever, with each passing day, parasocial fans idealize and obsess over their favorite stars, privacy becomes a thing of the past, security and freedom become impossible, consent becomes something outside your control.
