Scream 4

I don’t care it’s flawed, I don’t care Emma Robert’s wasn’t winning any awards with her performance. This is still my personal Favorite Scream film and Jill is still by far my personal favorite Ghostface. As much as I liked (squinting to) seeing the returning trio I never loved this movies use of Dewey, he’s just here and never really does anything. Neve and Courtney are once again great as Sydney and Gale I loved seeing them come back and hold themselves amongst the new cast of characters. The new characters are (mostly) great, I really love Hayden Panettiere as Kirby and I’m endlessly grateful she returns after this film. Although performance wise she was kind of off I really liked Emma Robert’s Jill. The new cast really feel natural with the returning cast the only of the bunch I didn’t love were Robbie, Rebecca, and Trevor. Robbie’s character is so much funnier than he should be to me knowing he was almost played by Shane Dawson. This is my favorite third act of the series because post reveal Easily this has my favorite Ghostface because this is the most I ever seen any of them really work to get away with it. I didn’t see the killers coming personally, and Charlie is a character I feel is very underrated. He is by far the most brutal Ghostface (up to this point) and I enjoyed his character I just wish he was more than “likes movies and Kirby” which I think was the only real flaw with the character because Scream 6s batch of Ghostfaces made me really appreciate Charlie even more. I hate the filter on this movie but we don’t talk enough about how it’s shot like a Disney channel original movie and a lot of the acting is giving that. I also hate how the opening scene goes through 6 performers and not a single one understands what made Drew Barrymore’s opening so special. I enjoyed the game fake outs but I’m obviously not gonna see the girl from degrassi and the blonde from the American remake of Pulse and have the same reaction I had with Drew Barrymore on that original movie. This is flawed to hell and back but am I still gonna give it 5 stars? Yes because realistically nobody read this far and it’s my account.
