This film moved me on a level few have ever done before. One of the most deeply heartbreaking and beautiful pieces of cinema I’ve had the pleasure to come across.
It’s going to be hard for me to fully collect my feelings for this film as I wipe away the tears.
This was a magnificent exploration of trying to come to terms with your inner feelings, and who you are, and why other people might be different in a harsh society that seems to not accept you. The excruciatingly confusing questions you want the answers to at such a tender and formative age, but you just can’t quite process these complex things yet. The tipping point of adolescence in which you stop just acting like yourself, and start to act in the way others will accept you.
How this film dealt with these things and also grief as a child and equally as a mother really connected me with.
I am in awe at how talented Eden Dambrine is. The depth of emotion he managed to portray in situations so layered and nuanced. At that age. Unbelievable.
I loved this film with every piece of my heart.
