Mind Game
When a team of individuals come together and really use animation to the extent of its capabilities, it never seems to disappoint.
Mind Game is probably one of the coolest animated movies I’ve ever seen?? Like on a technical and an artistic perspective, it’s actually pretty crazy how many styles get crammed into this a movie with a runtime under two hours. The story is also incredible?? The plot feels ever evolving and consists of so many twists and turns that I would’ve never expected, but also end up working so well?? It’s also hard to talk about this movie and not mention the bizarreness throughout it. That alone is something that I instantly fell in love with, but could also see it being a bit much for some that maybe aren’t used to that style of media.
With themes of love, heartbreak, existentialism, and a general plot about living/appreciating life and not taking it for granted, this movie plays out like the eccentric relative of Its Such A Beautiful Day by Don Hertzfeldt, and I couldn’t be more happy about that.
Definitely worth all the hype, and super engaging from front to back.
