Ponyo

I could actually sob at how much I love this movie. This was the first Ghibli movie I ever saw when I was a kid so obviously it holds a very special place in my heart. I vividly remember renting it at the video store with my parents and it just turning my whole world upside down.   If there’s one thing Miyazaki does extremely well, it’s creating these wholesome stories that are enjoyable for all ages. They’re just as magical to watch as an adult as they are as a kid.  Also dammit this movie makes me wanna have kids someday!! Ponyo and Sosuke are some of the sweetest characters I’ve ever seen in a movie. Their dynamic is just so good, it makes me emotional thinking about it lmao!  Also I mean cmon… the English rendition of the Ponyo song by Noah Cyrus? Incredible. AND THEN FOR THEM TO DROP THIS LIKE ELECTRONIC BRIDGE INTO A ROCK RENDITION?? GAS PACKED. Overall such a gem of a movie, perfect from start to finish.
