Mirror
'Stalker' is usually seen as the best entry point into Tarkovsky, and while I did enjoy that one, Mirror is the one I really connected with. Tarkovsky has said his ideal viewer watches his films like a traveler watching the country he's passing through, not obsessively trying to attach meaning to what he sees; Stalker's philosophizing made that difficult for me, but this movie's reliance on images and feelings made it come much more naturally. A great film to lose yourself in, and I have a feeling I'll be returning to this one many times.
