Chungking Express

this was somehow even better on rewatch. one of the best theater experiences i've ever had, this movie is just so amazing. visually it is near unmatched in its style and beauty. both stories are told so well, and they rly add a lot to each other despite their little connection. every line of he zhiwu's narration is a gem, and all the performances are super strong. it feels weird to call this a rom com, but i guess it sorta is? it's definitely funny, but also very melancholic. whatever it is, i'm in love with it. On May 1st, 1994, a woman wishes me happy birthday. For this I'll remember her all my life. If memories ever come in a can, I hope that can never expires. If it has to have a shelf life, I hope it's 10,000 years.
