i’m floored. where do i even begin.
this was probably the most emotional i’ve ever been watching a film. charlotte wells directed the hell out of this and you can tell how personal it was to her.
in many ways this felt personal to me too. i was a lot like sophie when i was 11. from the constant filming to performing on a stage in front of people on vacation, she reminds me so much of me.
when i was younger my dad would help me practice how to free myself from an attacker who grabbed my wrists. it’s such a small thing but seeing it depicted here really did something to me. i can’t explain it.
paul mescal is incredible. frankie corio is going to be a star. i’m never going to hear under pressure and losing my religion in the same way ever again. this is why i love film so much.
