Inception
The power and the danger that is one's mind is truly terrifying and Christopher Nolan plays with those notions at an extreme level. The idea of not being able to distinguish what is real or not, if even you are real or not, wow.
Christopher Nolan created yet again a cinematic masterpiece, with a world too daring to be imagined by anyone else, based on a premise so simple, yet so originally complex.
I first saw this movie a while back, and even though I hated how much of it I didn't understand, I love what I'd seen, as it felt so incredibly special, unique and good. On a rewatch, 5 years later, I still get the feeling that I didn't quite figure it out, but I'm definitely more aware of what it is.
Nolan's worldbuilding adjacent to concepts difficult to understand but satisfying to discover will forever be a true mark of genius, and nothing can change that. When you add on top of it a stellar cast and Zimmer's epic touch, you get a life-changing event. I can't wait for what I've witnessed to linger in my mind for the following days and weeks. This isn't Nolan's best, and to me, it doesn't even crack his top 3, but does that make this any less brilliant? Hell no.
