I AM SHAKING CRYING I WAS A SKEPTIC BUT I AM A SKEPTIC NO MOre OH MY GOD THIS WAS EVERYTHING FOURTEEN YEAR OLD ME COULD HAVE WANTED AND SOOOOO MUCH MORE — one short day had me in TEARS absolutely everything about it was perfect (minus the “i’ve always wanted to see the emerald city” being absent). i had literal chills at the beginning of it. and when idina and kristen showed up?? with ALL OF THE REFERENCES?? the wand fight, the riff, the standing with their respective role 😭😭 i love the two of them so much and the fact that the cameo was big enough for them to include all of that made me grin like i was a kid again or something. there was just so much love in the entire scene and it may be my favorite musical number i’ve ever seen on screen. — i’m not that girl!! probably the most overlooked song in the entire musical but cynthia’s version was beautiful. i kind of hate when people add unnecessary riffs and this was no exception, but i can overlook that just to say that i’m glad the song really held space in the story. — popular. just popular. — the sheer loyalty of the script?? — everything. just everything. i am so in awe with this adaptation and it is going to be a LONG year before the second part. i will be going back to see part one an unbelievable amount of times.
