okay no but let’s be so serious… this show could’ve hit so much harder. like the ending? it tried to be emotional and it could’ve had me sobbing but the issue is there was barely any actual plot progression. half the episodes were just vibes — and not even interesting ones. it was giving soft lighting, awkward silences, and breathy tension followed by like 20-minute sex scenes that made me wanna peel my skin off.
bro. the sex scenes were SO unnecessarily long. like offensively long. and there was NO music?? just pure skin slapping, mouth breathing, awkward gasps. like sorry, am i in the room with you two??? and the camera angles??? there’s no way they weren’t actually doing it. and in the beginning it was like five sex scenes per episode. it was actually tiring. i don’t care if it’s “realistic,” it was just porn without music. literally.
also why was like 80% of this show just filler??? two straight episodes where nothing happened. marianne’s mom randomly turning into a bitch halfway through?? why? alan??? most hated man alive. like no competition. and then the pacing… it was like crawling through syrup. they’d finally have one emotional conversation and then boom, back to another 9-minute sex scene in complete silence.
and no because when i went into this show on here i saw the average rating was 4.4 and everyone was giving it five stars so i was like okay this is about to be mind-blowing, life-altering, core-memory cinema… NO IT WASN’T. what are y’all watching??? like fr be honest. you’re just horny. this wasn’t peak romance. this was porn with an occasional whisper about trauma. if you wanted to see that much sex just watch porn because this show really said intimacy but gave zero plot in return. the ending did pick up a bit and there were some genuinely good scenes but how is the average rating 4.4. how. like everybody go.
rating: 6.5/10 — and that’s me being generous because the acting was great, the emotional moments did hit when they actually showed up, and i see the potential it had. but between the pacing, the lack of actual story, and the disturbingly long sex scenes, it just left me feeling weird and underwhelmed. this could’ve eaten and instead it just… had vibes and genitals.
