Aftersun

A brilliant debut with outstanding performances from both Paul Mescal and Francesca Corio. This year, so far has been outstanding for break out child acting. Shot to within an gnats chuff of perfection, it's slow and dreamlike and reminds me of Sophia Coppola. Throughout there's this gnawing sense of unease culminating in and ending that punches you in the gut.
