Poor Things

For👏🏻mid👏🏻able👏🏻 Probably the most visually striking and original film I’ve seen in a long time! It is very Yorgos with glimpses of early Jeunet and some Powell & Pressburger, but still so unique and innovative in its form. I imagine the conversation between Yorgos and Robbie Ryan: “Bring the wide angle bois.” “Which ones?” “All of them?” Emma Stone is deserving of every accolade coming her way, she is absolutely incredible as Bella. Mark Ruffalo is brilliantly wry and is genuinely a career high performance. Big shoutout to Kathryn Hunter, one of the great character actors! And bloody Vicki Pepperdine! Need to see it again very soon!
