almost to the point of absurdism but good! the documentary/newsreport style start switching into the backstory for this bourgeoisie family's degradation was really cool, though the idea that this degradation had to be expressed sexually, especially in the context of the mother was strange. from one perspective, you could debate whether it is abt the commodification of the proletariat body, esp proletariat women - which is very interesting in contrast with emilia lol - but the extent to which that is true is debatable when you compare the mother's fate to the rest of the everyone else's. emilia my shayla tho!! my wack queen!
