Alien: Romulus
went to see it again. loved it. again. in this review i wanna talk about the last ten minutes because a lot of people don't like it because of the callback to prometheus/covenant and to some degree resurrection, but i think it is highly important for the franchise. i think, for the most part, the horror element to the newborn is fucking incredible. i was truly terrified and even on the second watch it made me feel uneasy. the thing most people have a gripe with seems to be the story part and how they "just threw the goo thing in there" but the whole purpose of it is to show how the WYC is constantly trying to get it's hands on a xenomorph, study it, and replicate it's qualities in humans. it's not like the crew just found it laying around, the r&d had been done to try to create a god-like being (obviously failing, given the rat), and the main cast of this movie had to go out of their way to find it. idk i can't think of anything else to say i'll figure it out in my next review of this movie probably.
