a thoughtful and honest look at childhood trauma and mental illness, presented through a superhero action movie lens. The action scenes almost feel like imagination at points, transitioning and fading into Bruce's childhood and his fears but snapping back into the action when the fears get too intense. A hyper stylised yet heartfelt film. Ang Lee seems to be the only filmmaker who doesn't view The Hulk as an action set piece dispenser or a dabbing comedic relief
