Interstellar
i couldn't watch interstellar in the cinemas when it came out in 2014. i loved the tdk trilogy & inception, and i was excited for this movie. i remember being so pumped when i saw the giant billboard for it in my city as it wasn't common for movies to get billboards here, but i couldn't watch it.
the only times I'd go to the cinema at that age was when my dad was in the city and not four hours away at the farm. when this movie came out, he was away. i knew if i begged my mom she'd take me but between her work and constant fights with the family, i didnt want to burden her so i stayed quiet. i remember going to school and a bunch of kids in my class saw the film opening weekend, i was jealous and annoyed, my always pretentious self thought they were too dumb to understand the movie.
i saw the movie in 2020 and thought it was great. i rewatched it in 2023 and fell in love but something from that Interstellar Experience that everyone raves about was missing. that missing part, and that 10 year old's wish came true tonight. Interstellar was not even supposed to release in cinemas here but by some miracle, at 6 pm today, i sat with one of my best friends and watched Christopher Nolan's interstellar on the big screen. i love this movie, i love the way life unfolds, i love my friends, i am so grateful for everything i have.
