Titanic

🐔 🧠 After watching The Extended Voyage, this feels extremely short and fast paced despite having a runtime of over 3 hours, but it works beautifully anyway. The Extended Voyage manages to implement deleted scenes with intricate detail and context without feeling dragged out. I only realized after my latest rewatch that Rose’s character is metaphorically paralleled with a butterfly. She felt trapped and constrained, much like a caterpillar, not being aware of their potential — until they finally take that step, unknowingly, setting themself free. The “I’m flying” scene was her own metamorphosis. I hope they re-release this masterpiece in cinemas for the 30th anniversary next year — I’m keen to experience this on the big screen.
