this movie was so good and i dont know if its bc of the actors, plot, or just the fact i love religious imagery, the roman empire, AND ancient egypt idk it might be user error.....
but this was so good i absolutely loved it and i will be watching it again for shits n gigs bc omg i dont think i've ever giggled more at oscar isaac in my life and pls cast him in more historical dramas that man pulls it off so well and when HE CRIES OVER HYPATIA STOP IT
me when hes bleeding, crying, AND ON HIS KNEES?? triple threat and i was in fact incapacitated
but also justice for hypatia bc there was no reason for her to go through all of that simply because she was 1. a woman, and 2. believed in philosophy over blind religion
i find it so interesting that christians are usually the first ones to call ppl out on pushing agendas onto ppl (ofc not all christians) while they were the ones who put in and enforced laws onto pagans, like pot call kettle black
but i did rly enjoy this movie as a hellenic pagan and it was incredibly enjoyable and i loved it
