Eraserhead
Damn, this your debut feature? Being reading Room To Dream, but taking time to rewatch and watch everything before I need to head on to the next chapter. This is my third watch of this one and I don't think that I needed to rewatch this one fully because it's just so fucking weird. It is slow as fuck as everyone knows (20 minutes of footage is gone forever that he cut out after an initial screening), but there is still so much amazing visuals and oddball scenarios that..I mean, Lynch's mind worked in the right way for cinema from the get go. It's cool to see how this film had a hard time taking off, but become a staple at midnight screenings, eventually getting the attention of Stanley Kubrick, saying it was his favorite film of all time. Just saying, if Kubrick said that about my first film, I'd end up In a coma from shock. Anyways, I think weirdness aside, there is a gripping narrative here about a man not wanting to take the responsibilities of adulthood and is unable to escape that and I really do like how that's done here.
