Rushmore
A very well-witted and acutely directed piece. One of the strongest roles I’ve encountered of Murray’s following a lifetime of his presence across culture. I appreciate the nuance the film takes with Ms. Cross’s character and a refusal to allow the audience to side with Fischer despite us following him and still having an investment in his actions. Every character feels very real despite the heightened humorous world of Rushmore, I think these really human characters add to the films themes greatly.
