Interstellar
When it comes to your favorite director, I believe it’s extremely hard to rate their films. This is especially true with a director like Christopher Nolan, whose films are each so amazing on their own. I find it incredibly hard to say which of his films is his best. One of those films in contention for his best is, without a doubt, Interstellar.
The film is a true masterpiece, so the fact that it is only in contention as one of the best films someone has made shows how brilliant Nolan is. The cinematography is nothing short of perfect, and it harkens back to the other great masterpiece of sci-fi space travel: 2001: A Space Odyssey. The directing by Nolan, including when and where to use IMAX cameras, is also perfect. The acting is also absolutely perfect, giving us some of the best performances of the 21st century so far. The score is one of, if not the best work Hans Zimmer has ever done, perfectly amplifying the emotion present in each scene. Not to mention the sheer science and logic and theory that was worked on to make this movie so scientifically accurate. And then, even despite that, this science heavy story is one of the warmest and most human stories about love and family that makes me cry every single fucking time I watch it. I fucking love this movie.
