Hamnet
i think this movie is particularly important right now because we are in a time where we've seen and continue to see so much injustice and death in such dramatic quantities that we've forgotten how to grieve. and this movie helps us to recognize the very deep and human experience that is loving and grieving someone and finding that part of ourselves that we maybe have lost touch with. hamnet is about using grief to unify and understand one another. one of humanity's most beloved plays was born out of such deep hurt, and i think this movie helps to reflect how powerful it can be to express ourselves as we are---raw and unkempt---because this vulnerability is what connects us to other people and i think that that is so beautiful and such an impactful statement, especially right now.
