Interstellar
I never had the urge to watch this movie when It first came out, and the decade that passed by didn’t make me feel like I was missing out on anything. I turned out to be extremely wrong.
I cannot believe I went through ages 13-22 without having seen this film. It is such an insanely and masterfully directed movie. The visuals are incredible, the message is timeless, and the music is so moving. Everyone involved participated in making one of the best spectacles on screen I’ve ever witnessed l. I gave myself a week or so before writing a review so recency bias wouldn’t make me say crazy things, and I’m still gonna say them.
This movie had me laughing, crying, anxious, and trying to figure things out along with. Cooper and Dr Brand.
This is definitely a movie where I’d need to watch a second or third or fourth time to pick up more details I missed prior. The one scene where Brand is explaining how she wants to go to Edmunds planet on the slimmest possibility he’s there just because she loves him and she tried to prove to Coop love is science. Then Coop shuts her down and they go to Mann’s planet. But if he had listened to her and considered love, they wouldn’t have gotten into that predicament on with Mann and could’ve saved so much more time.
Don’t even get me started on using Time as a concept this well in a film. I genuinely think I could write an essay on this movie but I probably won’t. But please know It moved me and now means so much to me. Especially the scene when he’s in the 5th dimension and you see he was her ghost and she was able to figure everything out from him in another dimension because of LOVE.
Just a genuinely spectacular film and Nolan, Zimmer, and McConaughey all deserve their flowers for this film from now until the end of time.
May actually write an essay about this. We’ll see.
