Loki
the saddest part about Loki isn't that he falls in love with a variant of himself. it's that the first person who truly understood him was someone who knew exactly what it meant to be him.
for his entire life, loki chased power because he thought it would fill the emptiness. what he actually wanted was to belong.
and when he finally found people who accepted him, he gave them up so they could have a future.
he spent years believing his glorious purpose was to rule. turns out, it was to let everyone else live.
i don't think i've ever seen a character change this much without losing the very thing that made me love them in the first place.
