House is to horror and comedy what Bojack Horseman is to comedy and drama. How much a movie can flip its own genre on its head and deliver a story that causes both shivers and laughters, that takes itself as serious as unserious, and that can make one appreciate the visual effects no matter how shitty they can be, is honestly mind-blowing. House is a must watch horror movie even if it's a comedy horror. I would say is my universally perfect horror movie. Such a refreshing experience after the bland disappointment of Suspiria (1977)
