Alphabet Club5/26Letter E Halloween Watchathon 2018#4 Finally a good movie for Halloween and another plus for me Alphabet Club list. I came into this movie knowing very little. All I really knew is that a girl had a blood kink, and man is there a lot more to this movie than just that. The film reminds me a lot of Hereditary in the sense that it has a lot of the same elements. It’s more drama than horror, is a very character driven story, Dream sequences, family drama, tragedy, depression, this movie dives deeper in obsession. I honestly kind of related to the main character with how obsession can take over your life, as well as other people’s lives. The movie just kind of clicked for me. It might be the bright colors when disturbing surgery imagery is shown in the dreams that I just loved contrasted with the ugliness of real life, and maybe it’s something else, but after a long string of not really seeing a good movie in a solid two weeks besides maybe Moonrise Kingdom, which I fell asleep during, this seemed like a masterpiece.
