Amélie

No matter how isolated and alone you feel, if your heart is good, you will definitely find your true love. I really love this movie so much—especially the fact that it is a French film. I have never witnessed such a playful, whimsical romantic interplay as shown in Amélie. I don't think American movies can capture the kind of smooth, emotional, and raw interplay depicted in Amélie, particularly in the scene where she finally meets her lover at the end. The movie has a very cute, happy ending. Amélie, a child who grows up hungry for love and affection due to her father’s solitude and his reluctance to hug her, struggles even more after the death of her mother. This complex emotional point drives the story. Amélie is such an unconventional, lonely character, often seen in red or blue dresses. The way she always strives to help others almost makes her feel less like a random girl in existential crisis and more like a guardian angel.
