High Fidelity
Finally got to force Harlie to watch one of my all-time favorites (which becomes more and more of a favorite with each viewing) and... SHE LOVED IT! I watched this a few months ago, so go read that long ass write-up about it there. But on this rewatch - probably because of watching it with my girlfriend of 6 years - I found myself getting more emotional than usual, especially at the final speech Rob gives to Laura about the fantasy no longer being appealing.
And the meta element of "using someone else's poetry to describe how you feel," felt extra appropriate due to this viewing being me literally doing just that. The way this film puts words to and acts as a conduit for so many feelings that I have felt in my life never ceases to amaze me.
Again, last time I watched it, I explained myself fully, so go read that review for more.
