The Fall
So, every few years or so I put this movie on to reaffirm one thing...
And every few years this movie reaffirms that one thing...
And that one thing is that this is my favorite movie of all time. Hands down.
I can't say many things with the same confidence that I can say that this is my favorite movie of all time. It simply has a hold on me, unlike anything I've seen before or since my first time seeing this as a freshman in high school.
On a visceral, emotional level, this film makes me weep without fail. On a passion for the arts/storytelling level, this film makes me want to create something. It makes me want to shout from the rooftops how much i adore cinema and storytelling, and grab the nearest person next to me and show them the wonders that this film has to offer.
It is a Josh Timpko Four-Quadrant film. It makes me laugh, cry, fills me with awe with its spectacle, and forces me to see the world in a new way every time.
I could go on and on about this film and someday I just might. But for now, I'll say that I can't believe that this film is still under the radar of so many people who I know would become smitten with it's breathtaking beauty and charm. Go watch it. For the love of God.
I have a DVD if you need to borrow it. But just know it is one of my most prized possessions.
