Winter's Bone

99/100 sorry, this is gonna get logged like once a month cause I’ve seen it 5 times now and I don’t plan on stopping this was Jennifer Lawrence’s first powerhouse performance and she did fantastic the overall story of the effect of keeping your mouth closed on a community this tight knit is fascinating to me. I’m sure this happens all over the USA even today so it’s interesting to see it explored like this the lengths Ree goes to defend her family are admirable and she makes a great character. Same with Teardrop; he’s a well written, 3D character that feels like they could exist.  I believe realism was the goal for this movie and they achieved it. None of the technical aspects stand out or are noticeable and it really elevated the story.
