SupermanToby Nettleship10.0· July 20, 2025Follow2025 rankeddcu rankedpreparing for supermani havent felt like this since the prime of the mcu. i love the snyderverse, but i think that a reboot needed to happen. my problem with man of steel (a movie that i like) is that it feels nothing like the comics. but this movie is so vibrant and colorful, like superman should be. i loved how superman realized that the human side of him is what gives him strength instead of his kryptonian side, with that ending of him watching his childhood instead of the his parents message. i didnt see the reveal that jor-el and lara sent him to earth so he could rule over them, and that moment with pa kent was so great. maybe my favorite moment of the whole movie. the idea of the main character struggling after learning their father isnt who they thought they were felt kind of similar to matt reeves the batman ironically, but the batman did it way better. speaking of the batman, i really dont want them to bring robert pattinson into the main dcu. i love his batman, and i love both the batman and the penguin. but what makes those so great is how grounded they are. i think battinson himself could work in the dcu, but what happens to the world matt reeves has built? what happens to farells penguin? kravitzs catwoman? danos riddler? wrights gordon? james gunn has said that hes not gonna do that, which gives me hope, but a concerning amount of people seem to want that, which worries me. but ive gotten sidetracked from how great this movie is. i loved the cinematography and the action. and every character was perfectly cast. the best superman, the best lex luthor, the best lois lane, the best jimmy, the best ma and pa kent. i also loved the justice gang. mr terrific almost stole the show. i say almost because nobody could steal the show from david corenswet as superman. im so excited to see more of him, and eventually team up with batman and wonder woman. he was already great with the justice gang. and i loved the cameo from peacemaker. john cena is great as the character in everything hes in. peacemaker season 1 was perfect, and im so excited for season 2. and the supergirl cameo made me excited for the new supergirl movie. easily the best superman movie and a top 3 dc movie. im between a 4.5/5 and 5/5, but im leaning towards a 5/5. absolutely loved this, and im so excited for the rest of the dcuCommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all Toby's reviews for Superman (2)First watch10.0July 20, 2025Rewatch 110.0October 26, 2025
