holy shit. they should call this the masterPIECE (im sorry i had to) bc its so good. ive only seen twbb & phantom thread (and the first hour or so of boogie nights) so im not super familiar with all of ptas work, but from what ive seen there is no doubt in my mind that hes a fucking goat. it might be recency bias talking, but i think this might be my favorite pta film, which is crazy considering twbb is in my top 15 films oat. i think this is also might be my favorite preformance from joaquin phoenix as well. hes one of my favorite actors oat, and his preformance in this is so fucking perfect . amy adams is also phenomenal, but thats not a suprise. also rami malek, todd phillips, and ambyr childers are also good, but we didnt get enough of them to compare them to phoenix and adams. but phillip seymour hoffman is on an entirely different level. he fucking earned that oscar. like i said, the whole cast is good, but when lancaster dodd is on the screen, you forget about everybody else. rip to philip seymour hoffman, he was genuinely one of the best to ever do it. also ptas direction and script were amazing. and one of my favorite parts of this was the cinematography and color grading. i felt immersed the entire time, and i felt like i was in the room with them. all in all, this movie was a fucking masterpiece, (no pun intended) and im so glad i finally watched it
