Shame

One of the greatest films of all time. McQueen created something that was not only special but so impactful and important. I have seen this film, I think 6 times now, and it just gets better each time. The performance from Fassbender is perfect like not one flaw, nothing, he is fucking outstanding, one of my favourite performances of all time. Mulligan as well is just a powerhouse, her performance just brings a whole new element and adds such an interesting and complex dynamic between her and Fassbender. The supporting cast too, Dale and Beharie are great with the time they get. The last 25 minutes are some of my favourite to ever be brought to screen, tv & movies combined, the music, which is just gorgeous btw, the acting, the camera work, the editing just everything about it is beyond peak. But the writing and directing, oh the writing and directing by Steve McQueen is just on another level. McQueen is such a gifted filmmaker and artist, his ability to create such powerful and incredible films is one that not many filmmakers possess. I need more Fassbender and McQueen because when these two are together magic happens. If you have not seen Shame please do, it’s only really known for one of the final scenes of Fassbender crying but it is so much more than that.
