Suspiria
Every time I watch this movie it gets better - I absolutely love the bleakness and weirdness of this otherworldly unique story
The definition of a slow burn but I wouldn’t have it any other way - it’s a movie that is long and feels long but the horror is so effective and the world is so immersing and intriguing
The Witches are such scary antagonists - their control and discipline of the dancers with the backdrop of a 1980’s Stazi controlled Berlin go hand in hand so well
Tilda Swinton is my favourite actress for a reason - she plays three polar opposite roles in this film that encompass an entire actor’s range and tenure into a single two and a half hours, such an entrancing screen presence in everything she is in
The colour palette and overall look of the movie is so interesting - such a far cry from its colourful giallo origins although some sequences in the film don’t shy away from reminding us of the story’s heritage in that sense
The ending is batshit - I am of firm belief that you’re not supposed to understand all of it, and that’s okay, I like films that don’t leave every stone unturned
One thing I noticed on this viewing was some intentional dark comedy - adds another layer to this amazing movie
