Sinners
IMAX 70mm is the best format in the whole wide world, and i am so happy that i decided to travel to the city to go see this.
i was nervous about this films rewatch ability especially in the first half being a lot of setting up, but i was still engaged the entire time. this is the film that begs to be seen on the biggest screen as possible.. like i genuinely think everyone needs to see this in IMAX at least once. the cinematography is literally breathtaking especially the scenes that are in IMAX, the score and soundtrack are just phenomenal like i just want to blast them in my ears for the rest of my life.. especially their rendition of Rocky Road to Dublin like that scene was impeccable AND the I Lied to You song with the aspect ratio changing from standard to IMAX, the sound design is so chilling especially with the background noises that play around the theater, the editing is masterclass, and the costumes, production design, hair, makeup, and everything is so impressive.
this is the type of film that deserves every bit of success and recognition it WILL get, and i can only hope that The Academy will nominate this for as many awards as possible. i just want to deep dive down every single twitter thread, youtube video, instagram reel, etc. to hear what everyone’s takes are because it’s just so interesting. now, i am so happy an original movie is succeeding, but i really hope that they make as many sequels/prequels/spin-off’s as they want to because every single storyline is so interesting that i want to spend so much time in this world especially Remmick’s origins, Smoke/Annie, Stack/Mary, Smoke/Stack, Grace/Bo/Lisa, and the Choctaw vampire hunters.
anyway, go see this in theatres as many times as you want because we need this movie to succeed to show studios that not only do want original films, but we want original films that are GOOD and full of passion. you can tell that every single person working on Sinners had a passion for the story and wanted it to be told to the best possible extent.. so go see it in theaters ASAP. also, when it drops on physical media buy it (hopefully IMAX scenes included), and when it drops on streaming, stream it. bye.
