97%—•—this is literally my 11th time watching this (deadass) and idk if i’ll ever watch it again.. IYKYK. there’s just something about this that makes it so creepy and scary without having to rely on jump scares, and that’s what Jordan Peele does best. this film was my favorite thing when it first came out and i remember this being one of the first films i ever bought on 4k. the score is literally so chilling and i love it so much, i even listen to it sometimes in the car. it’s my inspiration whenever i need a creepy idea for a screenplay. the directing and cinematography are also beautiful from start to end, and the costumes are creepy as hell. there’s just something about seeing a Jordan Peele movie that makes it so great. while this does have its slow points, i never find myself too bored because just like Get Out, this slowly starts to reveal itself before the final big twist. also, the fact that this film can be enjoyed at different levels is fantastic. you got the surface level story and you can choose how deep you want to get with this film.. it almost resembles the story (oop!). this is definitely one of my favorite horror films for a reason because each viewing you can discover something new and exciting about this.
i’d love to see a sequel to this or at least something that explores the different perspectives of other families during this event cause that would be so cool.
