Nightcrawler
This is one of Gyllenhaal’s best performances. The script is so well written that you start to root for somebody who is making terrible things. As is said in my “Joker” review: this is the magic of movies. The world of news and sensational stories where everything is about money we live in is criticized very well. The editing, the cinematography and the directing are phenomenal and the supporting roles like Riz Ahmed’s character also are great. “Nightcrawler” has dialogue scenes where you can’t stop focusing on in particular Lou Bloom. I also enjoyed the score and the use of music that emphasizes the situation the characters are in and how dangerous they sometimes are. In the end there is one of the best car chasing scenes ever made that is full of tension.
