Alpha
WOAH. this movie is the densest, multilayered, cake i’ve ever had. I ate the cake and i’m well fed and need time to digest. there’s a few different themes going on that all blend together magically. Alpha is a young girl trying to navigate a world full of disease and darkness. her mother is a hypochondriac nurse while her uncle is a walking infestation. each with their own motives and perspectives that drive the film.
The last act really chews you up and spits you out left to decide what was what. A substantial movie leaves you with more questions than answers and this did exactly that! phenomenal performances from all 3 main characters!
