Scarface
Tonys villain arc began when Manny chose his sister instead of him..
This definitely wasn't like my type of movie but nonetheless it was obviously amazing. Great acting and dialogue, amazing cinematography and insane writing with darker themes of gangster life and greed.
It just felt kinda boring and slow to me. It kept dragging on and on and sometimes I just felt like i didn't understand anything that was going on. Tbf that could just be a me problem though but the narrative felt so slow.
I did like all the different themes of this movie though. The Cuban revolution, the american dream and greed. It was so interesting to watch Tonys rise and fall happening so quickly, all of it being caused by only himself but him still blaming everyone else around him. In the end this ultimately led to his fall, the film ending with him having killed his best friend and his sister being dead along with everyone else he knew. His greed is what made him lose everything in the end. Same traits that made him rise also caused his fall.
Still sometimes this just felt like a pain to sit through. Almost three hours of just action on action isn't the most interesting genre to me but nonetheless I still enjoyed this.
I also really liked Michelle Pfeiffers character I wish they did more with her.
Overall this was a great film but they just dragged it for wayyy too long
