Pulp Fiction
Still slaps! Just as refreshing & exciting as I remember! I’m not saying anything new here! The film is just so iconic but it’s just nice to rediscover it and why it’s so special! Also I could rewatch again Tommorow, I’d be just as happy! One of my favourite movies & MR Tarantinos best films to date, so funny and full, it’s slick & smooth, the dialogue is fantastically sharp and MEMORABLE!
I think this film is just so easy to forget cause it’s such a classic, there’s a line in the thick of it where they say “ your just one of those people who think cinema began with Tarantino” people do snark at this film because it’s very “film bro” but I do think we forget that the film is just so refreshing & different!
It was a major hit that reminded people that there’s a huge catalogue of film history out there, the influences Tarantino draws on in this film is the bottom tier sort of less prestigious cinema! Theres this whole flavour profile out there that I think he showcases in the film very very well!
I also think it’s important to not roll your eyes or sneer at this film just because it’s attached to that uni film bro culture, this film is probably the biggest gateways to expand their enthusiasm around film! So I don’t really see the issue with that and also for context the 90s was like the boom of low budget independent filmmaking( although Miramax is incredibly tainted now they were hugely involved) Tarantino himself was a newcomer in this industry and wrote the film and everthing so pulp fiction is a defining moment in cinema as it made it really cool!
There is no film like this! Many have tried but the film just cannot be reduced down, it’s more than some of its parts!
Great stuff
Bravo
