Loki
*“For all time. Always.”*
**
Still one of my favourite Marvel projects of all time, even without the masterwork that is season 2, the first season of Loki throws us headfirst into the Multiverse Saga and at the time I couldn’t wait to see all the possibilities (even if now it kind of ended up being a little disappointing)
Loki has always been one of my favourite MCU characters and it’s great to see him get the spotlight. I love the retro sci-fi aesthetic of the TVA and Mobuis is great, his dynamic with Loki is half of what makes this show so entertaining. The themes of free will and determinism are portrayed strongly throughout as well, it’s nice to see Marvel dip into existentialism sometimes.
Rewatching this also kind of made upset that Marvel scrapped the Kang storyline instead of just recasting Jonathan Majors because ‘He Who Remains’ is such a compelling antagonist and sets up a really interesting conflict we won’t get to see come to fruition.
So outside of the kind of weird Loki on Loki romance, the first season is still a 10/10 in my book.
