Loki
“For you. For all of us.”
Loki season 2 takes everything that makes season 1 so amazing and dials it up to eleven. More wacky time travel hijinks, existential questions about free will and morality and now with an addition of confusing time loops and brilliantly messy sci-fi concepts.
Loki is one of my favourite MCU projects of all time (no pun intended) because in the centre of the sci-fi madness of it all is a story about Loki and those closest to him. We see him grow from the egotistical tyrant, to a selfless king. It’s extremely bittersweet to see Loki give up everything he loves to protect his friends by sitting on his lonesome throne for all eternity, something the past Loki would’ve loved, but something our current Loki couldn’t hate more. This bittersweet conclusion to his character arc, and the rest of his supporting cast is why I’m kind of nervous about Loki’s inclusion in Doomsday but I’m still excited either way.
This feels like Marvel’s Lightning in a bottle. Everything in this series just comes together so perfectly and tells a heartfelt and beautiful story with endearing and loveable characters. It helps that Loki is one of my all time favourite MCU characters but this adds so much more to him and although I’m weary, I’m excited to see where his journey goes next.
