Marvel Zombies
Zombie Namor is the scariest guy I’ve ever seen in my life.
Upon rewatch a lot of the problems I had became a lot more apparent to me, however I still really enjoyed this.
The humour is still too much. Again, while it’s not as bad as the ‘What If…?’ episode where the characters were dropping one liners even after a major death, it’s still really off putting with the tone of the story it’s trying to tell. The characters are at least allowed to mourn and feel any other emotion than snarky joy, but it feels like they get over it after about ten minutes.
The plot is also really messy, but let’s face it, when you’re going into a show called ‘Marvel Zombies’ you’re there to see just that. A gorefest filled with your favourite marvel characters, which this series definitely excels at. While I’m really not a fan of this series’ art style, I’ve gotta say the actual animation is amazing. Every fight is so entertaining to watch and the kills are extremely gory and horrific.
I’m probably in the minority here but I actually hope this doesn’t get a sequel. My favourite part about this series is the dread and hopelessness you feel as everything continually goes wrong and more and more people die, and the ending is the biggest sucker punch you could’ve received after all that and I loved it.
Anyways, Blade Knight is the coolest concept ever, and the show gets an extra half a star for that. However, I’m also removing half a star for Scott Lang head shouting “Coming in hot!”
Perfectly balanced.
